Our Commitment to Universal Accessibility

Readholmes is committed to ensuring that our website, productivity utilities, AI study assistants, and published resources are accessible to individuals of all abilities. We actively strive to adhere to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1, Level AA standards) and continuous improvement best practices.

Measures to Support Accessibility

We implement the following proactive design and engineering measures across Readholmes:

  • Semantic HTML5: Every page utilizes proper semantic landmarks (`<header>`, `<main>`, `<nav>`, `<article>`, `<footer>`) and logical heading hierarchies (H1 through H4).
  • High Contrast Ratios: Text elements are calibrated to meet or exceed the 4.5:1 contrast requirement against foreground and background in both Light and Dark themes.
  • Keyboard Operability: Interactive elements including file upload dropzones, buttons, modals, dropdowns, and form inputs are navigable using keyboard tabs and enter keys.
  • Screen Reader Optimization: Descriptive `aria-labels` and icon fallbacks are provided for icons, interactive state indicators, and progress trackers.
  • Reduced Motion: Respects user `prefers-reduced-motion` settings across background glows and floating canvas animations.

Ongoing Testing & Known Limitations

While we strive to ensure total accessibility across our 17 browser tools, complex interactive canvases (such as client-side PDF rendering, OCR canvas coordinates, and multi-page drag-and-drop reordering) may present occasional navigation challenges for specific assistive screen readers. We continuously refactor these interfaces to ensure improved accessibility parity.
